What is AI advertising optimization?
AI advertising optimization uses your real campaign data to find what is working and what is wasting money, then recommends changes such as moving budget, excluding placements, refreshing creatives or adjusting bids. Good optimization shows the evidence and its confidence for every recommendation and keeps you in control of spending.
How Instant Metric AAO works
- It measures against your goal: effective cost per lead, acquisition, sale or install, or ROAS.
- It checks tracking first. If conversions are not being recorded, it says so before suggesting anything else.
- It compares segments (countries, devices, placements, creatives) with simple, explainable statistics and only flags differences that are unlikely to be chance.
- It suggests a bid range that fits your target, based on your measured conversion rate and its uncertainty.
- It explains each recommendation: the facts, the expected impact and a confidence level.
Three levels of automation
| Mode | What happens |
|---|---|
| A: Recommendations | AAO recommends; you make the changes. (Current mode) |
| B: Approval-based | AAO prepares a change; it runs only after you approve it. |
| C: Guardrailed automation | Small changes within limits you set, after the system has been validated. |
What it cannot do
No optimization can guarantee results, create demand that does not exist or fix an offer people don't want. It works best with accurate conversion tracking, enough data and a clear goal.
Common questions
Will AI spend my money automatically?
Not on Instant Metric. AAO currently only recommends. Any future automatic changes will need your explicit permission and spending limits.
How much data does it need?
Segment-level advice needs at least a few hundred clicks and some conversions; with less data AAO focuses on tracking checks and says confidence is low.
